Should parents allow their children to choose their career as they wish?

The answer is NO.

People, I am writing this article to explain why parents should not allow their children to make the career as their children wish. Children should make their career as their parents wish.

Generally people say like, just let the children choose their career as they wish and let them become what they want. But this should not happen because:

 

• May be your child is not quite mature to take the decision of his/her career?
• May be your child is just going with his/her laziness and comfort zone to choose his/her career?
• May be your child is just following to his/her some other immature friends or relatives.

 

So dear parents, you are quite mature for your child and I believe that you should take decisions about your child. But it becomes very hard when your child crosses some age like 10 to 12 years and parents left on their children to choose their career path which is not the right decision.

 

Then what Parents should do?

1. Take your decision about your child career at the age of 2 to 3 years. Whatever/wherever you want see your child, just decide.
2. Start guiding him/her accordingly since the early age. Say you want to see your child as doctor then show him some motivational videos or create such environment/situation so that your child thinks only about doctors and he/she realizes that Doctors are the most important person in the World. Just create curiosity in your child’s mind to become what you have decided for him.
   Below are some points parents must follow:
   • Keep away your child from those things which can divert his/her mind. This may be Media, Friends, and Environment etc.
   • Always visit some motivational and other education/historical places with your children which are related to their career you decided.
   • Tell them the stories of some successful personalities in that field and try to motivate them as much as you can.
   • Make their short term and long term goals and write them goals somewhere in the wall which is most visible on day to day activities. Then follow goal achieving mechanism with the best time management techniques to achieve those goals.

So dear parents, be early to choose career related decisions of your children, don’t be late otherwise they will become what they want and what you don’t want.
